Get to know: Caves de Julienas-Chaintre, Beaujolais Fleurie "Joie du Palais"
Tasting Note
The best wines in Beaujolais come from the 10 'Crus.' These are individual appellations that each have their own personality and style formed by the terroir of the land. Fleurie is known as "The Queen of Beaujolais" and produces wines that are light and delicate with a fruity, floral aroma and silky texture. This favourite of ours by Julienas-Chantre is full of raspberries, strawberries and redcurrant fruit. Juicy and light with a fine and supple texture, the palate is fresh and generous. A lovely example of this style.
A good accompaniment to quiche lorraine or light, white meats and Mediterranean dishes.
Kate Says
"We always try to have a good Beaujolais available and this has been a part of our range for years. It has everything we look for in a good Fleurie. The purity of fruit, the fresh floral elegance. It's a wine that tastes of Spring. One to enjoy at a picnic."
Producer Info
Respectively founded in 1923 and 1960, 'Cave de Chaintre' and 'Cave des Producteurs de Julienas' were merged in 2013 to form a veritable union between Burgundy and Beaujolais, two key regions rich in their oenological importance.
The men and women who make up Julienas-Chaintre Vignerons work together today, putting emphasis on respect for the 'terroir', innovation and production of a large selection of outstanding wines.
