Domaine Burle "Est-ce Que" VdP Vaucluse 2022

Get to know: Domaine Burle "Est-ce Que" VdP Vaucluse

Tasting Note

The modern typography label gives you a clue that this is not a typical Rhone blend. This uses Grenache, Syrah, Caladoc and Marselan from Vaucluse to create a wine packed with red fruits, and just a hint of spice. This is bolder and fruitier than you'd expect, giving a lot of generous blackcurrant and cherry fruit with a small hint of white pepper and eucalyptus and hint of tobacco and black pepper. There's a fresh acidity too making it very food friendly.

Try this with a lamb shoulder slow roasted with garlic.

Kate Says

"This is a very charming red from a top producer of Gigondas in France's Rhone Valley. It's been a big staff favourite as we've all fallen for it's ripe fruit and generous character. If you like bold and spicy wines, give this a go with some hearty warming food."

Producer Info

Damien and Florent Burle took over the running of the family estate in Gigondas from their father Edmond in 2004. Sharing the responsibilites in the vineyard and the winery between them, they aim to make classic Southern Rhone wines that are bursting with life.
