Beaumont Wines, New Baby 2016

Notify me when this product is available:

'New Baby' is made up of fruit from some of the oldest vines on the Beaumont farm, this is a Chenin dominant blend with added Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard, Chardonnay and Semillon, matured in oak casks. As you'd expect this is a richer white with a plush, round texture, plenty of ripe quince, pear and baked apple flavours whilst retaining a lovely, elegant freshness.

Beaumont was originally established in the 1700's as an outpost for the Dutch East India company in the heart of the town of Bot River. It was only in 1974 when the Beaumont family took over the farm and set about replanting the vineyards that it came into its own. They grow apples, pears and olives amongst the vineyards and the family are proud members of the IPW and BWI to encourage sustainable farming. Now in the second generation of the family, Sebastian heads up the viticulture alongside his father Raoul.

Some simply grilled shellfish with a good coat of butter and seasoning or if you're feeling adventurous grab some razorclams from your local fishmonger and fry them off with some garlic butter and a few spring onions.
