Argiano, Rosso di Montalcino 2023

Get to know: Argiano Rosso di Montalcino 2023

An elegant Tuscan red wine made from 100% Sangiovese in the rolling hills of Montalcino, Tuscany.

Tasting Note

Argiano Rosso di Montalcino is a beautifully balanced and approachable red that offers all the character of a young Brunello while showcasing the freshness and vibrancy of younger Sangiovese vines. Bright ruby red in colour with subtle purple highlights, it opens with aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, violet, dried herbs and a touch of vanilla spice. On the palate, this Sangiovese red wine is juicy and harmonious, with vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins and flavours of red cherry, redcurrant, liquorice and savoury spice. A subtle saline note adds complexity to the long, elegant finish. This is a classy, food-friendly Rosso di Montalcino that delivers remarkable quality and finesse for the price.

Top food pairings:

  • Wild mushroom risotto with Parmesan
  • Tuscan-style grilled pork chops with rosemary
  • Pappardelle with slow-cooked beef ragù
Kate Says

"If you've ever sat at a long table in an Italian trattoria with a bowl of pasta, good company and absolutely no rush to be anywhere else, this is the sort of wine you want in your glass. Sophisticated enough to impress, but relaxed enough to open on a Wednesday night."
