Get to know: Ame de St Georges, St-Georges-St-Emilion 2016
Tasting Note
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec from the right bank of Bordeaux. The wine spends around 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which is new. Generous red and black cherries with a hit of cassis. A herbaceous edge with chalky tannins and a long, firm finish.
Try with roast beef and all the trimmings.
Kate Says
"This family run vineyard makes thoroughly authentic wine which is really reflective of its region. A lighter but no less complex style with good depth and breadth of aromas, but a characteristic 2016 freshness about it too. And it really evolves nicely overtime."
