A very appealing wine made using Mencia grapes harvested from 50 year old vines in Ribera Sacra (Galicia, Nort West Spain). Aromatic with black cherry and blueberry fruit on the nose. Balanced, soft, fruity on the palate with ripe cherry, strawberry and plum fruit, with a round and pleasant finish. Very fine tannins and great complexity.
Try with roast lamb.
Alma Das Donas vineyards' are located on the slopes of the Sil River on a granite and slate soil. Due to their steeply sloping location and south-southwest orientation, they benefit from an exceptional microclimate for winemaking. Characterized by its steep slopes, there is no mechanization except for a simple rail system that facilitates the transport of their grapes. More than three hectares of own vineyards are cultivated along the steep terraces so characteristic of the Ribeira Sacra. It is, therefore, a heroic work in which effort, passion and soul are put in order to produce unique wines.
