Get to know: 1792 Small Batch (70cl, 47%)
A spicy, high-rye Kentucky bourbon whiskey, bottled in small batches at 47%.
Tasting Note
Spice, oak and caramel make up the nose. On the palate there's baked blueberry, with black pepper running underneath. The rye gives it a lively edge, and the caramel keeps things warm and rounded.
Serving suggestions:
- Over ice with a slice of orange
- In a Manhattan with sweet vermouth and a cherry
- In a Whiskey Sour with fresh lemon juice
Kate Says
"I'd put this one in a Manhattan. It's marketed as a high-rye bourbon, so there's a peppery kick that stands up well to sweet vermouth. Make one for a friend and see what they think."
