Get to know: Monemvasia Winery Tsimbidi, Voltes White 2025

An aromatic and refreshing Greek white wine made from native grape varieties grown in the cool-climate vineyards of Greece.

Tasting Note

Monemvasia Winery Tsimbidi, Voltes White is an elegant and aromatic white blend with loads of freshness and Mediterranean flavour. Pale lemon in colour with lifted aromas of freshly cut flowers, green apple, white peach and citrus blossom. On the palate, this Greek white wine is crisp, textured and beautifully balanced, combining juicy stone fruit flavours with bright acidity and a subtle mineral edge. The Moschofilero adds floral perfume and freshness, while Roditis brings structure and gentle weight. It finishes clean, refreshing and incredibly easy to drink - a brilliant introduction to modern Greek wine.

Top food pairings:

  • Grilled sea bass with lemon and herbs
  • Greek salad with feta and olives
  • Courgette fritters with tzatziki
Kate Says

"Greek wine is one of the most exciting categories in the shop right now. The wines have this brilliant combination of freshness, texture and Mediterranean character that makes them so easy to enjoy with food. If you usually drink crisp Italian whites or aromatic southern French wines, bottles like this are well worth a try"

Producer Info

Monemvasia Winery Tsimbidi was founded in 1997 with the mission of reviving the historic Malvasia wines linked to the region of Monemvasia in southern Greece. The winery works closely with indigenous Greek grape varieties and vineyards across the peninsula of Maleas, producing wines that showcase the freshness, aromatic intensity and character of the region’s unique terroir. Cooler mountain vineyard sites and significant day-to-night temperature shifts help preserve natural acidity and vibrancy in the wines.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 70% Roditis, 30% Moschofilero
  • Hand-harvested from selected vineyards in Achaia and Mantineia
  • Each grape variety vinified separately to preserve purity and freshness
  • Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 18°C
  • Short time on fine lees adds texture and subtle complexity without oak influence

Good to know:

  • Region: Wine of Greece
  • Style: White, still, aromatic and fresh
  • Closure: Screwcap
  • Vegan: Yes
  • ABV: 13%
  • Vintage: 2025

Why we love it:

This aromatic Greek white wine combines floral lift, crisp orchard fruit and refreshing minerality in a style that feels both easy-going and distinctive. A brilliant seafood wine and a great introduction to the freshness and character of modern Greek whites.
