B-Sides, Pressure Point Methode Ancestrale Rose Pet Nat 2025

Get to know: Pressure Point Méthode Ancestrale, WO Paarl Pet Nat 2025

A vibrant and expressive South African sparkling wine from the characterful vineyards of Paarl.

Tasting Note

Pressure Point Méthode Ancestrale is a lively and refreshing pétillant naturel that delivers bright fruit and a gently wild edge. Pale coral pink in colour with delicate aromas of fresh strawberry, redcurrant, a touch of cranberry, and lightly yeasty notes. On the palate, this Cinsault pét nat is crisp and energetic, bursting with tangy red berry flavours and a subtle savoury complexity. It finishes clean and appetising, with a soft, lightly sparkling texture that keeps you coming back for another sip. A brilliant example of modern Paarl sparkling wine with both charm and precision.

Top food pairings:

  • Smoked salmon with lemon and dill
  • Charcuterie and cured meats
  • Freshly dressed summer salads
Kate Says

"This is my kind of fizz – a bit playful, a bit rebellious, and seriously refreshing. Perfect for picnics, garden drinks, or whenever you fancy something a little different."

Producer Info

Strange Kompanjie Unlimited is a creative and unconventional collective in South Africa’s Paarl region, focused on championing lesser-known grapes and experimental styles. Working with sustainably farmed vineyards under the IPW scheme, they embrace a hands-off, exploratory approach to winemaking, allowing the Cape’s unique terroir and characterful fruit to shine through in every bottle.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Cinsault
  • Early harvested to retain freshness and natural acidity
  • Gentle pressing with just a few hours of skin contact for colour
  • Spontaneous fermentation in tank with minimal intervention
  • Bottled mid-ferment to complete fermentation naturally (méthode ancestrale), with a short lees ageing and no dosage

Good to know:

  • Region: Paarl, South Africa
  • Style: Sparkling, pétillant naturel (Pet Nat), light- to medium-bodied
  • Closure: Crown cap
  • Vegan: Yes
  • ABV: 12%
  • Vintage: 2025

Why we love it:

This South African sparkling wine captures everything we enjoy about pét nat – bright fruit, lively bubbles, and a slightly untamed personality. It’s fresh, food-friendly, and perfect for relaxed drinking, whether you’re pairing it with light dishes or just enjoying a glass in the sunshine.
