Palazzi Durello Spumante Brut NV

Get to know: Palazzi Durello Spumante Brut NV

A crisp and characterful Italian sparkling wine from the volcanic hills of Veneto.

Tasting Note

Palazzi Durello Spumante Brut is a lively alternative to Prosecco, offering bright fruit, fine bubbles and a refreshing, dry finish that makes it a favourite in Verona’s bars and restaurants. Pale straw in colour, it opens with aromas of lemon, blossom and green apple. On the palate, the native Durello grape delivers crisp apple, citrus zest and a lightly honeyed character, underpinned by fine bubbles and lively acidity. It finishes bright, clean and refreshing, with surprising depth for such an approachable style. A sparkling wine that captures the energy of Veneto’s volcanic soils.

Top food pairings:

  • Classic antipasti with cured meats and cheeses
  • Veneto-style risotto with seasonal vegetables
  • Seafood platters or grilled calamari
Kate Says

"If you love Prosecco, you'll love this. It's also made in Veneto using the same tank method of fermentation but just uses a different grape variety. In fact when people try it, they often prefer it. Drink like the locals!"

Producer Info

Adria Vini was founded in 2003 as a collaboration between Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, one of Piemonte’s leading co-operatives. Their aim is to craft authentic, great-value wines from local Italian grape varieties, with winemakers Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese at the helm. Grapes for Palazzi Durello come from the volcanic slopes of Monti Lessini in Veneto, where the native Durello thrives thanks to cool hillside vineyards and naturally high acidity. It’s this unique terroir that gives the wine its freshness and lively character.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Durello
  • Hand-picked from volcanic hillside vineyards between Verona and Vicenza
  • Gently pressed to preserve purity of flavour
  • Tank (Charmat) method fermentation to retain bright fruit and crisp bubbles
  • Aged 2–3 months on lees for added texture and complexity

Good to know:

  • Region: Veneto, Italy
  • Style: Sparkling, dry
  • Closure: Cork
  • Vegan: Yes
  • ABV: 11%
  • Vintage: NV

Why we love it:

This Veneto sparkling wine is a brilliant alternative to Prosecco – zesty, floral and refreshing, yet with enough texture to shine alongside food. It’s the kind of bottle you’ll want to have on hand for aperitivo hour, celebrations or simply to bring a taste of Verona to your table.
