Chateau de Montifaud VS 5 Year Old Petite Champagne (70cl, 40%)

Get to know: Chateau de Montifaud VS 5 Year Old Petite Champagne (70cl, 40%)

Tasting Note

Older than the minimum ageing required by regulations, this VS cognac sets the tone for what can be found in the Château Montifaud range: Notes of vine flowers and fresh fruit (pear and apple). Powerful but round, supple and very soft. This cognac provides a lot of pleasure with a beautiful freshness, its roundness and creaminess make it a great starting point for anyone beginning their discovery of cognac...

Producer Info

Château de Montifaud is very much a family enterprise with Michel and Catherine Vallet, their son Laurent and his wife Elodie all involved. This is lovely, unadulterated pure, fine, perfumed cognac. A family domaine and distillery. 125 hectares of vineyard in the heart of the Archiac where the Grande and Petite Champagne meet, much sought after by the larger Houses.

On the strength of this exceptional terroir, they work daily to ensure that their vineyard is managed in a sustainable manner. They make it a point of honour to apply the artisanal techniques passed down from father to son while combining the new technologies of today, allowing them to accentuate the natural qualities of the "eaux-de-vie": floral notes, finesse and elegance on the nose, roundness, suppleness and length in the mouth.
