Get to know: Domaine Burle "Est-ce Que" VdP Vaucluse
Tasting Note
The modern typography label gives you a clue that this is not a typical Rhone blend. This uses Grenache, Syrah, Caladoc and Marselan from Vaucluse to create a wine packed with red fruits, and just a hint of spice. This is bolder and fruitier than you'd expect, giving a lot of generous blackcurrant and cherry fruit with a small hint of white pepper and eucalyptus and hint of tobacco and black pepper. There's a fresh acidity too making it very food friendly.
Try this with a lamb shoulder slow roasted with garlic.
Kate Says
"This is a very charming red from a top producer of Gigondas in France's Rhone Valley. It's been a big staff favourite as we've all fallen for its ripe fruit and generous character. If you like bold and spicy wines, give this a go with some hearty warming food."
