Ironcloud Estate, Rock of Solitude Cabernet Malbec 2019

Get to know: Ironcloud Estate, Rock of Solitude Cabernet Malbec 2019

Tasting Note

The Rock of Solitude is a flat, south facing rock situated in Ironcloud's vineyard. The winemaking team find it to be an ideal spot to seek seclusion and regain energy from the earth in the quiet of the early morning and evening. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec is a ripe and expressive red from a good vintage in Ferguson Valley. The aroma fills you fresh black plums and berries with dusty edges. The palate has a core of sweet fruit, blueberry and black plum, combined with savoury French oak giving ripe and plentiful tannin.

Ideal with flavoursome casseroles like osso bucco.

Producer Info

Ironcloud Estate (formerly Pepperilly Estate) is situated in the picturesque Ferguson Valley, in the hills of the Geographe Wine Region, overlooking Geographe Bay. Peppermint Trees line the Henty Brook, the natural water source for their vineyard and the abundant 'pepper' berries provide a welcome distraction for the local birdlife - who would overwise try to eat from the fruit on the vines.
