Solara Natural Red, 13.5%, Romania, Vegan
All about the pure clean fruit and it is packed full of bramble fruit notes with raspberry and blackberry dominating the aroma. The palate is smooth and juicy with complex notes of blueberry balanced by gentle acidity and smooth tannins on the finish.
Monte Oton, Campo de Borja Garnacha, 13.5%, Spain
Bright juicy plum and blackberry aromas. The palate is soft and approachable with cassis, plum, bramble and cherry characters. Supple tannins create an appealing finish.
Heilan Coo Shiraz Mataro, 14% Australia, Vegan
A really expressive, bright, contemporary Aussie red. The nose of soft, open, chocolatey fruit has a clove note with a palate of fresh brambly, cherry-red fruit that leads to a gentle spicy finish. Ideal BBQ wine.
Alceno, Sierra de Enmedio Monastrell, 13% Spain
Monastrell is the Spanish name for the Mourvèdre grape and it thrives in hot regions like Jumilla. This example from family owned winery Alceno is ripe, fruity & delicious. I'd enjoy this with a few plates of meaty tapas.
Les Volets Malbec, 13% France, Vegan
A fresh and lighter style of Malbec with aromas of crushed blueberries, crème de cassis with a touch of parma violets. The palate is full of fine red fruit, cranberries and a touch of cocoa nib on the bright finish.
Le Professeur Marselan, 14.5% France, Vegan
You don't need to be a Scientist to know this is a delicious red wine. Marselan is an unusual grape that is worthy of the spotlight here. I'd enjoy this with a meaty ragu.
