£76.00We’re always excited to try wines with our guests and one of our favourite ways to do this is through our monthly in-store tastings across our sites. Every month we have different themes as we look to explore the world of wine together, hopefully learn a thing or two and enjoy ourselves in a relaxed casual atmosphere. We have three types of tasting activity you can get involved in.
Our free drop-ins are a chance to meet our suppliers and winemakers as they come into the shops to pour a few samples from their range, and you can come by any time while they’re on. There’s no need to book.
For our Bar Evenings we choose a winery or style to showcase by taking over our by-the-glass menu for one night only. Pop-in for a glass and a chat or stay the whole evening.
Our ticketed tastings are our most in-depth events. Guided evenings with limited spaces, so buy your ticket ahead to secure a place.
Wed 11th Nov 6.30–9pm Celebrating Tempranillo with James Strange £40 We have another celebration planned at Didsbury! Join us to celebrate the great Spanish grape variety Tempranillo, and taste through examples from across Spain, and maybe even further afield. We will explore Rioja as well as other fantastic examples, in time for you to discover your next favourite wine in time for International Tempranillo day!

Thu 19th Nov 5–9pm Beaujolais Nouveau Evening with James Strange On Thursday 19th November, Beaujolais Nouveau is released around the world, and James is opening this year's vintage in Didsbury from 5pm.
Nouveau is young, bright, juicy Gamay, made to be drunk the moment it arrives. Order a glass to toast the new vintage, then let James take you further with a curated range of Beaujolais bottles also available to order.

While walk-ins can peruse the shop shelves during an event, guests enjoy the back area's high tables to themselves where they are guided through tastings. Our shop manager and expert James hosts tastings with a range of themes from fine wine to whisky, collaborative events like our popular Wine & Cheese nights with Chorlton Cheesemongers, and unique event series including personal styling workshops with colour expert Maria Vittoria. Every year at West Didsbury we throw our Winter Wine Fair, where you can find the perfect wines to enjoy and gift at Christmas.
