Mauricio Lorca, Calma Indomita Albarin, 12.5% Castilla y León
The Wine Merchant Top 100 - Best Value White Wine Trophy 2025 - Albarin is an authentic, indigenous grape variety grown along the camino del Santiago, especially around Leon. Grown at 1,000m high altitude. It has a lovely floral and tropical aromas balanced by zippy minerality. It's the perfect wine for the curious.
Bodegas Palacio, Glorioso Blanco, 12% Rioja
A bright and refreshing white Rioja, Glorioso Blanco is a beautifully balanced wine with layers of fresh citrus, crisp apple, and white flowers. There’s a touch of ripe stone fruit and a delicate pastry-like richness, thanks to time spent on the lees. Smooth and rounded, it finishes with a zesty lift, making it a joy to drink.
Marco Abella, Loidana, 14.5%, Priorat
This Priorat red wine is smooth and velvety, with juicy Grenache fruit balanced by the structure of Carignan and a subtle savoury edge from Cabernet Sauvignon. Fresh acidity and fine, abundant tannins carry through to a vibrant, harmonious finish. A beautifully balanced Spanish red that delivers depth without heaviness.
Bodegas Palacio, Glorioso Reserva, 14% Rioja
This delicious Rioja Reserva was a big customer favourite at our inaugural focus group tasting. It is easy to see why with generous fruit and well-balanced oak giving complexity and a silky texture. I'd enjoy this simply with some grilled lamb chops.
Celler Masroig, Les Sorts Jove, 14% Montsant
