A taste of central Portugal from one of the oldest wine producing regions in the country. This is a bright and juicy red blend with good honest flavour. The Trincadeira brings red cherry and raspberry fruit with a little herbaceous edge and Touriga Nacional adds blackberry and plum fruit and a little more body to the palate. Gentle tannins and a fresh finish makes this a very easy-drinking wine that will be ideal for a picnic, barbecue or party nibbles.
Try this with sausage and mash, mature cheddar or a charcuterie board.
"This is a very easy-going wine that's a good one to have on the wine rack for those moments that call for a glass of something. The name translates as Garden Village and we were impressed by the authentic quality of fruit and winemaking. Very good value."
Villa Jardim wines are made by Quinta Vale do Armo overlooking the curves of the Tagus River, an exceptional terroir of exposed vineyards inspired by the delicacy of this wine region. Vale do Armo is thus a brand of true Tagus wines shaped by a temperate Climate, clay-limestone soils and an altitude of 150-250m above seas-level, resulting in wines with a very fruity and smooth character.
As part of the Lindeborg group, Quinta Vale do Armo has a focus on sustainability in all aspect of their business and is in the process of converting to organic production.
In 2005, the estate underwent a modernization process in agriculture with the introduction of national and international grape varieties, the use of sustainable techniques that respect nature and biodiversity. Two years later, with the construction of the winery, it reflected the owner’s desire to produce a proprietary brand that would become one of the main products of the municipality of Sardoal, adopting the same affectionate reference “Vila Jardim,” as the streets and houses of the town are always adorned with flowers, as a hallmark of wines from the Tejo region.
