Black Chalk Wild Rose 2022

Get to know: Black Chalk Wild Rose 2022

A poised and expressive English sparkling rosé wine from the cool-climate vineyards of Hampshire.

Black Chalk Wild Rose is an elegant English sparkling rosé wine that walks the line between vibrant freshness and generous, lifted fruit. A delicate wild rose pink in the glass, it immediately feels refined and purposeful rather than overly showy. Aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and rose petals rise gently, with subtle hints of citrus zest and pastry richness from extended lees ageing. On the palate, it’s all about tension and texture – bright red berry fruit sits alongside a fine, creamy mousse and a mouthwatering line of acidity. The absence of malolactic fermentation keeps everything crisp and focused, leading to a long, precise finish that leaves a clean, savoury edge alongside lingering summer fruit. This is English sparkling rosé with real sophistication and poise.

Top food pairings:

  • Sashimi and maki with soy, pickled ginger and wasabi
  • Seared scallops with citrus dressing
  • Strawberry and basil salad with balsamic glaze
Kate Says

"This is the kind of wine that makes a simple table feel like an occasion. Think late afternoon sun, a plate of something fresh and delicate, and that moment where everything just feels lifted and a bit special without trying too hard."
