Harrow & Hope Brut Reserve No 8

Get to know: Harrow & Hope Brut Reserve No 8

Tasting Note

No 8 is based on the wonderful Pinot year that is 2019. It was a cooler and longer ripening season than 2018 and gives this wine a more elegant and focused structure. The pronounced Pinot character is already giving lovely toasty complexity which will continue to build over the next few years. Enjoy on release but will also reward further ageing.

Try this as an aperitif or with shellfish.

Kate Says

"Here we have a great English Sparkling wine that's worth celebrating. We love this winery. Based down in Marlow, it's run by a husband and wife team. Their Brut Reserve is great quality. Pure, fresh and elegant, it's an absolute belter."

Producer Info

Over half a million years, their part of the Chiltern Hills has been shaped by the retreating Thames, leaving behind an environment ideal for creating world-class sparkling wine. Alas, the same flint rocks that make their single vineyard estate a dream for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, also make it a nightmare to work and cultivate – as two broken harrows testify. But then nothing worth treasuring ever came easy.

Grown, picked and expertly blended by the same team on the same site, each glass of Harrow & Hope is a tribute to traditional method viticulture and winemaking, to the unique characteristics of Marlow and to the spirit of adventure.

This multi-vintage blend uses fruit from all varieties and areas of Harrow & Hope's single vineyard to produce a wine that displays the unique qualities of the whole site. Using reserve wines, aged in oak, that have been carefully built up and nurtured from our very first harvest, they add layers of complexity and texture to each wine. Every numbered release has it’s own identity and make up
