Domaine La Loyane Lirac, Cuvee Elie, 14.5% France
This wine was created to celebrate the birth of the wine maker's son. A blend of Grenache 60% and Syrah 40% from 80 year old vines. The nose is full of a blackberries and blackberry jam aromas leading to a full, rich, dense and velvety palate that is still fresh with fine and supple tannins.
A great wine with a rib of beef or a rich meaty ragu.
Libiam, La Rifra Lugana, 13% Italy
This beautiful example from La Rifra has a wonderfully floral nose with citrus and peach notes that invite you into the glass. On the palate it is mouth-filling and almost creamy, with flavours of soft peach, lemon peel and apple as well as tropical notes on the finish.
