Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV

Get to know: Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV

A beautifully poised French sparkling wine from the historic heart of Champagne, Epernay.

Tasting Note

Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV is an elegant Champagne that brings together depth, freshness, and charm in equal measure. Golden straw in colour with streams of fine, persistent bubbles, it opens with aromas of ripe pear, mango, honeysuckle and white jasmine, followed by subtle notes of vanilla and brioche. On the palate, this classic Champagne blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay delivers generous flavours of quince jelly, apricot jam, candied orange peel and soft spices. It finishes with a long, harmonious freshness that lingers beautifully. A refined and impeccably balanced Champagne that truly showcases the character of the region.

Top food pairings:

  • Elegant canapés or smoked salmon blinis
  • Roast chicken with herbs and lemon
  • Soft cheeses such as Brie or Chaource
Kate Says

“We don’t add big-name Champagnes lightly, but Pol Roger has always had a certain magic about it. It’s elegant without trying too hard and has that proper ‘treat yourself’ feel. When I open a bottle, it reminds me why some classics are classics for a reason.”

Producer Info

Pol Roger is one of the most esteemed names in Champagne, long regarded as a benchmark for refined, traditional winemaking in Epernay. Known affectionately as the ‘gentleman’s Champagne’, it has been a favourite of Winston Churchill and the British Royal Family for generations. With cellars running deep beneath the Avenue de Champagne, Pol Roger is celebrated for its precision, purity, and unwavering commitment to crafting wines of finesse. Their meticulous approach – from vineyard selection to ageing – ensures each cuvée captures the true spirit of this historic region.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay
  • Grapes are harvested and pressed immediately for purity and freshness
  • Juice undergoes two settling stages before fermentation
  • Cool fermentation in stainless steel, with each grape and cru kept separate
  • All wines complete malolactic fermentation for added softness
  • Secondary fermentation and long ageing (minimum 4 years) in deep, cool cellars
  • Traditional hand riddling before disgorgement and final dosage
