The brainchild of Master of Wine Kate McIntyre, this skin contact Pinot Gris is made in the exact same way that Moorooduc make their Pinot Noir. The resulting wine is an exceptional light red, fantastically layered with soft floral aromas, pickled ginger, poached rhubarb and crunchy plums. The tannins and acidity are perfectly balanced, this is an incredibly complex skin contact wine.
Moorooduc Estate is a small family run wine business with a philosophy of hands on care in the vineyard, minimal use of chemicals and minimal intervention in the winery to produce amazing food friendly, complex wines that express their own terroir with a gentle nod to Burgundy.
this would be a great pairing with sushi or sashimi especially if there was a little bit of heat from wasabi in there.
