Get to know: The Mentors Orchestra
A rich and approachable South African red wine from the Western Cape
Tasting Note
The Mentors Orchestra 2020 is a full-bodied red that’s packed with ripe fruit and a touch of savoury complexity. Deep ruby in colour with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, plum, black cherry, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it’s layered and smooth, with each grape – Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec – adding its own character. It finishes with soft, rounded tannins and a long, satisfying finish. A great example of a well-balanced South African red.
Top food pairings:
- Braised lamb shoulder or slow-cooked beef
- Fillet steak with a rich jus
- Hard cheeses or mushroom-based dishes
