Tasting Note

This wine is the Chardonnay grape dressed in glittering gold! Aromas of mayflower, acacia, and honeysuckle blend with verbena and hazelnut and toast. This wine boasts a profound minerality. Rounded and opulent, it is instant on the palate, ripe and mellow with a long lasting finish. If you can resist the urge to drink it, it will develop notes of honey or ripe pear with a bit of age.

Pair with classic French chicken in a cream sauce.

Kate Says

"It is always a treat to try the Chardonnay of Chassagne-Montrachet and this wine from André Moingeon is a wonderful example. It has the luxurious richness that you want from this wine perfectly balanced with a vibrant fruit and elegant minerality. A wine to indulge in."

Producer Info

André Moingeon created this domaine in the 50s although certain parcels of vines have been in the family for over 150 years. André was joined by his son Michel 1978 and now by his grandson Florent and together they have grown the domaine to encompass 10 hectares of vines around primarily St. Aubin, but also other communes in the Cote de Beaune. The style is open and modern and easy to drink. They only bottle 50% of the harvest each year and Michel maintains that prices are amongst the lowest in St. Aubin.
