Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova is an elegant yet intensely structured expression of Sangiovese that shows the depth and character of this celebrated Brunello. Deep ruby in colour, it opens with lifted aromas of cherry, wild blackberry, fresh white flowers, and a signature balsamic note that marks every Tenuta Nuova vintage. On the palate it’s full-bodied, rich, and layered, with ripe dark fruit, vibrant acidity, and beautifully integrated tannins giving real precision and drive. The finish is long, persistent, and refined, showing the balance and ageing potential that define top-quality Brunello di Montalcino.

Casanova di Neri is one of the most renowned Brunello producers in Montalcino, founded in 1971 and celebrated for pushing quality and innovation in the region. Their Tenuta Nuova project was a pioneering endeavour, planting Sangiovese in a previously unexplored site after years of studying microclimates, soils, and exposures. The estate’s philosophy revolves around meticulous vineyard work, low environmental impact, and precision winemaking that allows each parcel’s terroir to shine through with clarity and depth.
How it’s made:
- Variety: 100% Sangiovese (Sangiovese Grosso)
- Hand-harvested in the 2nd and 3rd week of September for optimal ripeness
- Manual and optical sorting to ensure only perfect grapes are used
- Spontaneous fermentation in conical steel vats with frequent gentle punching down
- 30 months of ageing in oak barrels followed by 18 months in bottle for added harmony and complexity
