Description

A selection of red, white, rosé and sparkling wine to enjoy while reading our 5 week Back to Basics blog series in September. In week 1 you can find out about how wine is made while enjoying a bottle of Romanian Pinot Noir rosé. In week 2, enjoy a crisp glass of Muscadet while reading about French wine. Week 3 is all about Italy so enjoy this Tuscan Sangiovese. Week 4 sees us head to Spain and we have a cracking Crianza Rioja to sip along with it. Week 5 will be all about New World wine and you can enjoy the full flavoured fruitiness of an Aussie Chardonnay. Finally, celebrate the end of the series with a bottle of our bestselling Prosecco.

Kate Says

"It's more fun to learn about wine when you can taste it. We encourage all our staff to taste whenever they have the opportunity. For our back to basics blog we encourage you to taste with us and enjoy this selection of classic wine styles."

What's in it?

Calusari Rose 2020

A short fermentation on the skins gives this modern-style Pinot Noir rosé a delicate pink-coppery colour, it is crisp and intense with strawberry and raspberry notes on the aroma and palate.

Domaine de la Bretonniere, Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur Lie. 2021

A French favourite from the Loire Valley, made using the Melon de Bourgogne grape. This is a wonderful light, dry white with an intense, complex nose. The palate is fruity with with green apple, lemon and melon fruit and a dry finish.

Calappiano, Sangiovese Toscana. 2020

A lovely, easy drinking Italian red with some honest fruit and good balance. It's got some pretty red cherry and blueberry fruit and enough acidity to match a tomato sauce.

Palacio del Camino Real, Rioja Crianza 2019

Made from a blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Graciano you get complex aromas of ripe dark fruits mix with coffee, vanilla, balsamic and woody notes from 18 months in oak barrels.

One Chain, The Googly Chardonnay 2021

A lovely, modern, fruit forward Australian Chardonnay sourced from cooler climate vineyards to give a crisp, lively and bright freshness.

Le Dolci Colline, Prosecco Spumante Brut

Fabulous dry fizz from Veneto. Fresh and gently fruity with citrus and green apple aromas. On the palate it is delicate and lively with ripe, lightly grapey fruit, zesty acidity and a clean, refreshing finish.
