Get to know: Emilio Moro, Finca Resalso Ribera del Duero
Tasting Note
A brighter, fresher wine from this region, this is honest, intense and very expressive on the nose with aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant. Juicy with mellow tannins and well balanced acidity. Aged for 4 months French oak barrels.
Tapas is always a winner for a food pairing, or enjoy at a barbecue.
Kate Says
"Ribera del Duero is a hot region that produces powerful, inky wines, but this red from Emilio Moro shows off it’s lighter side. It has pure, ripe, natural blackberry fruit and really comes into it’s own with barbecue food."
Producer Info
Finca Resalso is the name of an historic vineyard that was planted in 1932, the year Emilio Moro was born. This is the name given to the wine made from grapes from their younger vines grown in a mixture of clay, stony and chalky soils.
The wine macerates with its own skins for 12 days, so later the malolactic fermentation is made for 30 days in stainless steel. Finally, it is aged in 3 year old French oak barrels.
