Ca dei Maghi, Valpolicella Classico 2023

Get to know: Ca dei Maghi, Valpolicella Classico

Tasting Note

This magnificent Valpolicella opens with aromas of fresh marasca cherry, wild raspberry and a hint of red strawberry and marzipan, leading into a juicy, sapid palate with ripe cassis and bramble fruit, subtle spice and a pure, dry finish. Fresh, harmonious and delightfully drinkable.

Top food pairings:

  • Charcuterie boards or Italian cold cuts
  • Soft cheeses or creamy antipasti
  • Chicken or mushroom pasta
Kate Says

"This Valpolicella stands out for its superb pure fruit. It's made by a talented young winemaker and his family who took over in 2011 and have really improved the quality at this 70 year old estate. Ideal with a cheese board."

Producer Info

Cà dei Maghi is a small, family-run vineyard nestled in the hills of Valpolicella, dedicated to making expressive wines from native grapes. Led today by Paolo Creazzi, the estate blends tradition with attention to detail to elevate the region’s classic styles. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

This Valpolicella Classico is made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara, sourced from hillside vineyards just below Monte Sant’Urbano. Grapes are hand-picked in early October, then fermented and aged for six months in stainless steel to retain bright fruit purity and fresh acidity. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

How it’s made:

  • Blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella & Molinara
  • Harvested by hand in early October
  • Fermented and aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks
  • No oak influence – fruit and freshness at the centre
