Champagne Lete-Vautrain, Echo Brut Blanc de Noirs 2019

Get to know: Champagne Lété-Vautrain Écho Brut Blanc de Noirs 2019

A complex, low-dosage vintage Champagne crafted from Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. Rich, elegant and full of quiet depth.

Tasting Note

This is Champagne with a bit more depth and richness than your average fizz. It’s full of ripe apple and baked pear flavours, with a hint of toast and a lovely dry finish. The bubbles are fine and steady – and everything feels really well balanced.

It’s the kind of bottle that works brilliantly with food, but feels just as special on its own. A real treat that quietly impresses with every sip.

Top food pairings:

  • Venison or wild game terrines with fig chutney
  • Pata Negra ham or charcuterie boards
  • Cheese: aged Morbier or other pressed cooked cheeses

Serious fizz for grown-up occasions – though a glass on its own is every bit as rewarding.

Kate Says

“This Blanc de Noirs is a fantastic example of how Champagne can be both generous and refined. The long ageing brings real depth, while the low dosage keeps it focused and dry. You get richness from the Meunier and structure from the Pinot Noir – a beautiful balance.”

Producer Info

Champagne Lété-Vautrain is a family-run estate in the Vallée de la Marne, an area especially well-suited to Pinot Meunier. The house is known for producing characterful, vintage-led wines from their own vineyards. The Écho cuvée is one of their most distinctive offerings – made only in top years, and aged for a minimum of six years in the cellar before release.

This 2019 vintage showcases their approach perfectly: blending traditional and modern techniques – with fermentation split between stainless steel and their unique “Menhir” tanks – to achieve both freshness and complexity.

How it’s made:

  • 75% Meunier and 25% Pinot Noir from estate vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne
  • 50% fermented in stainless steel, 50% in Menhir stone vats
  • Aged in bottle on lees for a minimum of 6 years
  • Low dosage: just 2 g/L (Brut)

Good to know:

  • Region: Champagne (Vallée de la Marne), France
  • Grapes: Meunier, Pinot Noir
  • Vintage: 2019
  • ABV: 12.5%
  • Vegan: Not certified
  • Style: Brut, Blanc de Noirs Vintage Champagne

Why we love it:

With its long ageing, thoughtful vinification and low dosage, Écho 2019 hits a rare balance between richness and refinement. A perfect bottle for charcuterie lovers, or anyone looking for a food-friendly fizz with real character and story.
