Siegel, Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Get to know: Siegel Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Note

This Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a feast for the senses. It sets the stage with a nose packed with cassis, black cherries, red fruits, and a dash of black pepper. Subtle hints of tobacco, cinnamon, and chocolate round out its complex aroma. On the palate, it’s rich and concentrated, with smooth tannins and a long, satisfying finish.

Try this with slow-cooked beef brisket, grilled lamb chops, or a rich mushroom risotto.

Kate Says

"This is what Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon does best – bold flavours, a silky texture, and a bit of spice to keep things interesting. It's a perfect choice for a special dinner or when you just fancy treating yourself."

Producer Info

Viña Siegel, a family-owned winery in Chile’s Colchagua Valley, brings generations of winemaking expertise to every bottle. With over 700 hectares of vines spread from the Andes to the coast, their wines reflect the region’s diverse terroir. The Gran Reserva range showcases the pinnacle of their craft, with meticulous grape selection and careful ageing to bring out the best of what the valley has to offer.

The grapes are chilled and left to soak for five days before fermentation kicks off at a steady 27–29°C to bring out all the rich flavours and colour. After that, the wine spends another 2–3 weeks resting on the grape skins for added depth. Once blended, it’s gently clarified to ensure a smooth finish. Finally, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10–12 months, adding extra layers of flavour and character.

Serving Tip: Enjoy at 16–18°C to fully appreciate its depth and complexity.
