Peter Lehmann, Stonewell Barossa Shiraz 2019

Get to know: Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2019

An iconic Barossa Valley Shiraz crafted from some of the region’s finest old-vine vineyards.

Tasting Note

Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2019 is a powerful and beautifully structured red that showcases everything great about Barossa Shiraz. Deep, inky purple in colour with lifted aromas of blackberry, raspberry, dark chocolate, crushed rocks, and a touch of smoky oak char. On the palate, this Shiraz is full-bodied and richly textured, with layers of ripe plum, spiced fruitcake, and a subtle minty freshness adding lift. The mouthfeel is dense and almost oily, supported by fine-grained tannins that carry through to a long, sumptuous finish. This is a benchmark Australian Shiraz – bold, complex, and built to age gracefully over the coming years.

Top food pairings:

  • Char-grilled scotch fillet with creamy mushroom sauce
  • Slow-braised beef or short ribs
  • Roast lamb with garlic and rosemary
Kate Says

"Peter Lehmann has always been about championing Barossa growers, and Stonewell really shows that at its best – pulling together fruit from some incredible old vineyards. It’s no surprise to see it featured in Matthew Jukes’ 100 Best Australian Wines this year – a proper modern classic that still feels rooted in tradition."
