Crazy Crazy Pet Nat, a field blend of Huxelrebe, Wuerzer & Muller Thurgau. the Huxelrebe is picked early and left in contact with the skins for 14 days and then a further 3 weeks on the heavy lees following fermentation with indegenous yeasts. Secondary fermentation then takes place in the bottle when the juice of the Wuerzer and Muller Thurgau is added, there's no fining, filtration or addition of sulphur and the wine has a fairly large amount of sediment but don't be put off! It's an explosion (quite literally be ready with your glass upon opening!) of fruit, packed with fresh citrus, ripe quince and crunchy cider apples, there's a grippy texture and zingy acidity.
Martin Woerner gained experience with Matassa and Gut Oggau before moving to the Rheinhessen to manage his small 4 hectare plot.
A great aperitif to enjoy before dinner, a really fun sparkling but you could try pairing this with thai food!
