Matured first in ex-rye whiskey casks and finished in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks, this whisky is lightly peated with an aromatic smokiness with sweet dark fruits, raisins and dried figs. These are complemented by savoury spices, black pepper and roasted hazelnuts before finishing with a hint of saltiness. The perfect festive accompaniment.
The magical Isle of Raasay lies of the west coast of Scotland in the inner Hebrides just off the Isle of Skye. Rooted in centuries of distilling Raasay provides the ingredients for the perfect spirit and every drop is made on the island using water from the Raasay distillery well.
Co-founders Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day first met in 2013 and formed R&B Distillers with the common goal of building Scotland’s leading artisanal distiller. Focusing on local production, provenance, quality and doing things differently. They opened their doors in 2017 producing a gin that was the island’s first legal distillation. Single Malt Whisky is the true passion however.
Their annual distillery special release is a demonstration of their desire to push the boundaries of Raasay single malt flavour further and to give you a taste of something different to the signature distillery style. To celebrate their first year of whisky on Raasay - their first ever sherry cask whisky.
