Hatozaki Small Batch 12YO Umeshu Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)
Made from a blend of premium single malts, each aged for a minimum of 12 years in American Oak casks before being married and then further finished in bespoke barrels that previously held superior Umeshu liqueur for an additional 6 months.
The result, a perfectly balanced whisky providing subtle accents of sweet Japanese plum. Unpeated, delicate and floral. It offers a balanced feel in the mouth, with an aromatic palate and floral notes. The style is elegant and light, carrying significant depth from the malted barley.
No added colour and non-chill filtered, Hatozaki 12YO Umeshu finish is designed to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate the plum aromas from the Umeshu cask ageing, or in a highball for a light and refreshing serve.
Hatozaki is the name of the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan, helping sailors navigate the turbulent waters at the port of Akashi since 1620. With a design strongly inspired by the delicate naturalistic art of the Edo era (1603-1868), Hatozaki also incorporates a deep respect to the whisky of Scotland, the country that pioneered the spirit.
