In the heart of Volnay this is an estate that was handed over to Pierrick 8 years ago and he has since won the title 'Young Vigneron of the year' from Bourgogne Aujourd'hui magazine. He uses minimal sulphur and allows the wines to evolve naturally, aiming for purity of fruit, silky tannins and good length.
The 2019 Volnay is handpicked, undergoes daily pumping over and 3 punchdowns to extract colour and tannins from the skins during fermentation. The wine then spends 12 months in oak before being bottled with a tiny amount of sulphur. The nose is delicate and floral with raspberries and violets. There's plush, round fruit on the palate with well intergrated tannins and a soft finish. A greta wine to pair with duck or quail dishes.
