Dom. Sorine, Maranges Vielles Vignes 2022

Get to know: Domaine Emma et Christian Sorine, Maranges Vielles Vignes 2022

Tasting Note

A classic example of Maranges at its best, this 2022 vintage delivers vibrant red fruit flavours - ripe cherries, wild strawberries, and a hint of raspberry. Beneath the fruit lies a subtle earthiness with notes of gentle spice from oak aging. Medium-bodied with soft, integrated tannins, this wine has a youthful brightness now but promises even greater complexity with a little more time in the bottle.

Try this with a roast lamb leg, grilled salmon, game like quail, or a truffle and wild mushroom pie.

Kate Says

“This wine has so much charm - juicy red fruit with a whisper of spice that makes you want to keep sipping. It’s delicious now, especially with a roast chicken or herby salmon, but I’d recommend tucking a bottle away for a year or two. Those old vines have given it some real aging potential!”

Producer Info

Domaine Emma et Christian Sorine is a family-owned estate with centuries of winemaking tradition in the heart of Santenay, Burgundy. Christian and Emma, both qualified oenologists, take a hands-on approach to biodynamic farming and gently filter the wines on site with very little added sulpur, ensuring their vineyards thrive with biodiversity and care.

The Maranges appellation, located at the southern edge of the Côte de Beaune, is known for producing elegant Pinot Noir wines. “Vieilles Vignes” means the grapes come from vines over 50 years old, adding depth and concentration to the final wine.
