Black Chalk Classic Cuvee 2022

Get to know: Black Chalk Classic Cuvée

A precise and elegant English sparkling wine from the chalky vineyards of Hampshire’s Test Valley.

Tasting Note

Black Chalk Classic Cuvée is a finely balanced sparkling wine with fresh precision and depth. Pale gold in colour with a lively stream of bubbles, it opens with aromas of crisp green apple, citrus zest, and white peach, layered with subtle notes of toasted brioche. On the palate, there’s a clean, direct freshness with flavours of lemon, orchard fruit, and a hint of red berry from the Pinot Noir. A touch of oak brings gentle richness, while ageing on the lees adds texture and creaminess. The finish is long, vibrant, and refined – a true showcase of Hampshire’s sparkling wine potential.

Top food pairings:

  • Oysters or fresh crab with lemon
  • Canapés and light party bites
  • Seared prawns or delicate shellfish pasta
Kate Says

"This is English fizz at its best – crisp, classy, and just the thing for celebrations big or small. I love it with oysters, but honestly, it’s delicious on its own too."
