A crisp, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc from Awatere Valley, one of Marlborough’s most distinctive sub-regions.
This expressive white bursts with citrus zest, green apple and pineapple on the nose, with subtle herbal notes adding lift. On the palate, layers of lime, pink grapefruit and crunchy apple are backed by fresh acidity and a bright mineral edge. Dry, zippy and pure, it finishes clean with a fine focus and lovely concentration.

“This is Sauvignon Blanc with real clarity – crisp, fresh and full of personality. It’s got all the tropical brightness you want from Marlborough, with a cooler, more mineral twist. Super refreshing – and just made for sharing.”
Tohu is the world’s first Māori-owned wine company, and their Manaaki range is all about wines made for enjoyment, generosity and connection – perfect for sharing around the table. This Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from vineyards in the Awatere Valley, one of Marlborough’s cooler, drier and windier sub-regions. The ancient river terraces and alluvial soils here help produce fruit with bold flavour, lively acidity and a distinctive saline edge.
2024 was a dream vintage – low yields and loose bunches from a cool spring were followed by warm, dry summer days and cool autumn nights, locking in acidity and fresh aromatics. The fruit was machine-harvested for maximum aromatic expression, fermented cool in stainless steel for 21 days, then matured briefly on lees for texture before blending and bottling in July 2024.
This is textbook Marlborough Sauvignon with a refined twist – the Awatere Valley’s cooler climate brings freshness and focus, while Tohu’s careful winemaking makes it effortlessly drinkable. A wine that brings people together – just as the name Manaaki suggests.
