Get to know: Cal Y Canto Verdejo - A Zesty Spanish White That Hits the Spot
Tasting Note
This Verdejo from Cal Y Canto is a proper sunshine-in-a-glass kind of white. It bursts with juicy lemon and ripe melon aromas, followed by a crisp, citrusy zip on the finish. Light-bodied and refreshing, it’s the sort of wine that keeps your palate dancing without weighing you down.
Top food pairings:
-
Seafood tapas – think grilled squid, prawns, or sardines.
-
Grilled courgettes and peppers – the wine’s acidity cuts through the char.
-
Goat’s cheese – especially with a drizzle of honey or herbs.
Its clean, fruity character also makes it a cracking match for summer salads, sushi, or even a cheeky bowl of guacamole and tortilla chips
Kate Says

Producer Info
The vineyards of Bodegas Isidro Milagro are distributed throughout the different areas of Spain, primarily in La Rioja and La Mancha. They look for the character of each area and try to maintain the traditional balance of the wines.
Their vineyards are located at an altitude of between 300 and 750 metres above sea level, which gives the grapes special qualities to produce white, rosé and red wines with their own special personality.
They are proud to be among the top 10 wineries in Spain, but the history of their family group goes back three generations, with deep business roots in both the fruit sector in La Rioja and olive oil in Andalusia.
