The La Patagua wine from Vinos Inacayal is a very juicy natural white wine made from Semillon and Moscatel grapes from Chile's Colchagua Valley. It's unfiltered, naturally hazy and bursting with ripe pineapple, lychee and citrus fruit. It has enough acidity to balance the fruit and is a refreshing drop for a warm day and the somewhat higher abv is well integrated.
Very enjoyable on it's own but would be lovely with a spicy chicken empanada.
This La Patagua wine is produced by Vinos Inacayal - a collaboration project between wine importer Les Caves de Pyrenes and Luca Hodgkinson of Metic winery. They set out to create good value wines as naturally as possible using grape varieties that thrive in Chile. Sulphites are pretty low at approx 50 mg/l.
