Get to know: Ramilo Branco
Tasting Note
A white blend of Arinto, Viosinho & Alvarinho from Lisboa in Portugal, each variety bringing it's own set of characteristics to the party. Arinto brings the acidity and citrus fruit whilst the Viosinho and Alvarinho bring a softer texture and ripe peaches and apricots then the proximity to the Atlantic ocean adds a touch of salinity on the finish. This is fermented with wild yeasts and unfiltered, so there is a little sediment haze to some bottles.
This is a great white to pair with lighter cheeses and salads, a really fresh, watermelon and feta salad could work nicely.
Kate Says
"This Portuguese white is fresh, vibrant, and full of character, with bright citrus and floral notes. It’s a great choice for casual get-togethers or seafood dinners. Pair it with grilled fish or a light salad for a refreshing, delicious food match!"
