Get to know: Domaine Gayda, Flying Solo Rose

Delicately pink and effortlessly drinkable, this southern French rosé is a sunny celebration of Grenache and Cinsault.

Tasting Note

This organic rosé wine from the south of France is a real crowd-pleaser. Domaine Gayda’s Flying Solo Rosé is light, dry and effortlessly elegant - exactly what you want from a French rosé wine. Made from Grenache and Cinsault grapes, it’s full of crisp wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit, zesty citrus, a touch of elderflower and a delicate mineral finish thanks to the limestone-rich soils of the Languedoc. A refreshing, food-friendly rosé that’s perfect served chilled.

Top food pairings:

  • Grilled salmon or tuna steaks with lemon and herbs
  • Goat’s cheese and beetroot salad
  • Charcuterie boards with olives and tapenade
Kate Says

"This is the rosé I reach for when I want something fresh, easy and not too serious - but still properly made. It’s got that southern French sunshine vibe in every sip. A reliable and delicious wine for a picnic, garden drinks or a Friday night."

Producer Info

Domaine Gayda, nestled in Brugairolles near Carcassonne, is distinguished by a rich history and a philosophy focused on integrity and quality. Founded in 1749 as a coaching inn the farm buildings were gradually transformed into luxury accommodation, marking the beginning of a remarkable transformation. In 2004, under the enlightened leadership of owners Tim Ford and Anthony Record, in partnership with talented winemaker Vincent Chansault, the estate took a new turn by modernising significantly.

How it’s made:

  • Grapes grown on limestone and clay terraces in the Minervois
  • Gently pressed using direct press method
  • Fermented cool (12–16°C) to preserve fruit purity
  • Aged on fine lees for 3 months for added texture
  • Blended, fined and bottled with minimal intervention

Good to know:

  • Region: Pays d’Oc IGP, France
  • Grapes: 50% Grenache, 50% Cinsault
  • Vintage: 2024
  • ABV: 12%
  • Style: Dry, elegant rosé with red fruit and citrus
  • Vegan: Yes
  • Serve at: 8–10°C

Why we love it:

It’s everything you want from a summer rosé – light, fresh and so easy to drink, with a story as compelling as the wine itself.
