Get to know: Alceno, Sierra de Enmedio Monastrell
Tasting Note
Great value wine that displays the of the quality and diversity of Spanish wines. It has aromas of blackcurrant and soft blackberry that follow on to the palate where the dark fruit mingles with peppery spice to create a very pleasing, well-rounded and easy drinking wine.
"Appealingly soft, juicy Spanish red. Easy to drink on its own, better with tapas." - Fiona Beckett, The Guardian October 2023
Kate Says
"Monastrell is the Spanish name for the Mourvèdre grape and it thrives in hot regions like Jumilla. This example from family owned winery Alceno is ripe, fruity & delicious. I'd enjoy this with a few plates of meaty tapas."
