Autumn is the time of year when vineyards come alive – grapes being snipped from the vines, baskets carried down rows, and the air buzzing with the energy of harvest. This case is our way of bottling that moment. Every wine here connects you straight to the vineyard: from the cool granite slopes of Vinho Verde to the sun-drenched foothills of the Pyrenees. It’s a line-up that shows the journey from fruit on the vine to glass in your hand, and it’s packed with characterful bottles that’ll see you through cosy evenings, get-togethers, and even make a thoughtful wine gift. Think of it as autumn in six bottles – a ready-made celebration of the season’s work, perfect as a selection of wine for autumn sipping or even as a future Christmas wine treat.
Why they’ll love it:
"Harvest is my favourite time of year to talk about wine, because you can taste the excitement of the vineyard in every bottle. This case has everything: fresh whites, generous reds, even an orange wine with a bit of texture – all tied to the growers’ stories. It’s a brilliant autumn wine case, and a thoughtful gift if you’re looking ahead to Christmas."
Quinta da Raza, Single Vineyard Azal, 12.5% ABV, Portugal
Picked from granite and schist soils in the Basto sub-region of Vinho Verde, this Azal captures the freshness of Portugal’s northern hillsides. Crisp green apple and lemon zest leap from the glass, with a clean, mineral finish. It’s the taste of early morning harvests, when grapes are cool and vibrant.
Charles Frey, Maceration, 13% ABV, France – Organic & Biodynamic
The Frey family are pioneers of biodynamics in Alsace. This macerated blend of Gewurztraminer and Riesling is their nod to tradition, using extended skin contact to unlock layers of exotic fruit and spice. Think lychee, dried apricot and tangerine zest, wrapped in texture that only patient harvest work can bring. A brilliant example of orange wine.
Clos del Rey, Baby del Rey Côtes Catalanes Rouge, 14.5% ABV, France
Julien Montagné’s family vineyards lie on limestone foothills at the edge of the Pyrenees. Low yields mean each grape carries intense flavour, resulting in a red that’s all about juicy fruit and soft spice. This is what happens when harvest is kept small-scale and personal: purity in a glass.
Clos del Rey, Baby del Rey Côtes Catalanes Blanc, 13.5% ABV, France
A companion to the red, this white is brimming with peach, lemon and crushed stone minerality. Picked at altitude, the balance of sunshine and cool nights gives it tension and brightness – a wine that shows just how harvest timing defines flavour.
Domaine Monplezy, Félicité Blanc, 13.5% ABV, France – Organic
Up on the slopes north of Béziers, Benoît Gil and family farm organically, with old vines surrounded by wildlife. Their mantra: “the wine is made on the vine.” This Félicité Blanc proves it – lime, white plum and herbs with a streak of minerality. A real taste of the Mediterranean harvest.
Eric Texier, Chat Fou VDF, 12% ABV, France – Organic
Eric swapped nuclear engineering for organic winemaking in the Rhône, and his ‘Crazy Cat’ red is now a cult favourite. A playful blend of red and white grapes, it’s brimming with bright cherry and plum fruit, gentle spice, and a plush texture. Fermented in concrete, it’s pure, joyful harvest-time winemaking with real soul.
