Argiano has a history dating back to 1580 and is one of the founding members of the Consorzio di Brunello. Under the guidance of world-renowned consultants and modern investment, the estate combines centuries of tradition with cutting-edge viticulture. Their Sangiovese vineyards, situated on clay and limestone soils at 280–310 metres above sea level, benefit from careful organic farming, low yields, and meticulous attention in both vineyard and cellar.
How it’s made:
- Varieties: 100% Sangiovese Grosso
- Harvested mid-September to mid-October at optimal ripeness
- Cold pre-fermentation maceration for four days, followed by fermentation in stainless steel and cement tanks at controlled temperatures
- Malolactic fermentation in cement tanks
- Aged for 30 months in large Slavonian and French oak barrels of various capacities, with final blending and a few months in cement before bottling; long bottle ageing
