Cantine Sampietrana, Settebraccia, 14.5%, ABV Italy
This is a big wine from down in the south of Italy made using the lovely sounding grapes Negroamaro and Susumaniello. It's a serious wine with a rich flavour that’s easy to appreciate. Elegant, warm, soft and round texture with intense fruit verging on slightly sweet and ending with luscious tannins.
Benegas Estate Malbec, 14% ABV, Argentina
Floral and mineral aromatics typical of this area mingle with impressive black & red fruit (blackberry, plum, raspberry) concentration in a wine that is big and polished, but ultimately fresh and very finely judged with just 6 months in second use French oak barrels.
