Quinta do Piloto Roxo Branco is a fresh and floral white wine from Portugal’s Setúbal region, just south of Lisbon. Made from the rare Moscatel Roxo grape – normally used in sweet wines – this one’s completely dry, with a lovely light touch.
It smells beautiful: think rose petals, orange blossom and a hint of Turkish Delight, along with gentle tropical notes like lychee and dried apricot. On the palate, it’s crisp, light and refreshing, with a clean finish that makes it super easy to drink.
Pair's well with:
Grilled Sea Bass with Lemon and Herbs
Lemon and Rosemary Roast Chicken
Warm Couscous Salad with Roasted Vegetables and Pomegranate
"Here’s something truly special. Made from Moscatel Roxo – a rare grape once nearly lost to time – this elegant white wine is aromatic, light and quietly complex. It’s the sort of wine that makes you pause for a second sip, then a third. If you love perfumed whites like Gewürztraminer or Muscat but prefer a drier, fresher finish, this is for you."
Quinta do Piloto is a family-run estate in Palmela, with over 100 years of winemaking tradition and a deep connection to local grape varieties. The Cardoso family have been instrumental in preserving Moscatel Roxo, using it not only in dessert wines but also in this distinctive, dry white style.
Their winemaking combines traditional methods (like gravity-fed processes and fermentation without pumps) with sustainable practices. Everything’s designed to respect the fruit and the land – and it shows in the wine’s clarity and poise.
