The second release in The Legacy Series, Allt Gleann is named after one of two burns that feed the distillery. An evolution on the 2017 inaugural release, Allt Gleann introduces Laureate malted barley alongside Concerto, Safspirit M-1 yeast alongside Pinnacle MG+, and re-fill whisky barrels in maturation alongside first-fill bourbon barrels. There is a little more peat and added complexity compared to the 2017 inaugural release, elegantly showcasing the evolution of the Torabhaig spirit.

The Distillery at Torabhaig is the second ever licensed Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye. The Excise Act of 1823 first sanctioned legal whisky distilling in Scotland almost 200 years ago, with the first license on Skye being granted not long thereafter, so one could say it was about time.
Opening the second ever licensed Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye comes with a sense of responsibility, an obligation to do justice to heritage and provenance. It was never enough to make ‘just another whisky’. The world of Scotch Whisky is built on its history, and we are duty-bound to respect this rich and fertile heritage, but it is also our duty to meaningfully build on experience and traditional methods, to bring something new and unique to the table, to take nothing for granted and to make our own contribution to the continuum of Single Malt Scotch Whisky. In short, to leave a legacy.
They have sought the true expression of Torabhaig and in doing so developed our own distinctive character, which is fast evolving into a distinctive signature style, a flavour profile we call ‘Well-Tempered Peat’. This distillery signature will be the foundation upon which we build that legacy, and we look forward to witnessing this style develop over our first three expressions to be released under the Legacy Series label.
