Ramsbury Gin is a rare thing, one of the few single estate gins made in the UK. We believe that you can't make great gin without first making great vodka. Ramsbury Gin starts its journey on the estate as Horatio wheat. We then distil it through our 43 plate copper still, creating a base spirit that gives our gin an incredibly smooth texture.
Starting with our 96.5% spirit we add our nine botanicals (juniper, fresh quince, cinnamon, liquorice, oris root, coriander, dried lemon peel, dried orange peel, angelica). Then distil in our 160l gin still. From our 80% gin concentrate we blend down to 40% using our own water, chill filter once before hand bottling on site.
Juniper gently infuses with the grassy and fruity tones of quince. Light notes of citrus balanced by woody angelica and spicy cinnamon create a balanced and complex aroma. Floral tones and crisp quince fades into more savoury juniper, with a refreshing finish and a touch of spice. Smoothness abounds and this single estate spirit sits at the sweeter end of London Dry Gin.
Field to table from the heart of Wiltshire. We grow the finest Horatio wheat and are blessed with our own chalk filtered water source. Using our 43 plate copper column still we distil award winning single estate spirits. A sustainable approach. Our distillery uses heat generated by a biomass boiler fed by our own sustainable woodland. Our livestock are fed the spent wheat from the distillery. Our waste water is cleaned by a wildlife friendly reed bed system. Managing every step from field to table means only the highest quality products bear the Ramsbury ram's head.
