Silky Cote-Rotie from the steep terraces in Tupin. 30 year old vines and 20 months ageing in oak gives complexity and depth. There's still a freshness to the dark fruits accompanied by peppery notes and hints of smoke and spice. This could easily age for another 10 years but if you can't wait that long, decant for a couple of hours before serving with a rump of beef or roast lamb.
